Rescheduling, weather and cancellation
The rules are short. This page quotes them from the price list and explains each one.
Short answer
A 25 percent retainer reserves your date and is not refunded. One reschedule is free with 48 or more hours of notice. Weather reschedules are always free. If you cancel, the retainer is not refunded and the balance is not charged. A no-show forfeits the retainer.

The retainer
25% reserves the date, non-refundable. Balance day-of. The retainer is part of your price, not an extra charge. It holds the date so nobody else can take it.
Pay it through the booking link once we agree on a date and a package.
Rescheduling
Free with 48+ hrs notice, one included. Weather reschedules always free.
Message me as soon as your plans change. More notice gives us more dates to choose from. The price list says one reschedule is included. If you need another, message me and I tell you the terms in writing.
Weather
Bad weather never costs you a fee. That is the rule on the price list. The list does not set out a weather procedure, so message me when the forecast worries you and we choose a new date together.
A backup date saves a round of messages, so pick one when you book. The weather plan post covers rain, heat and pollen.
Cancellation
Retainer not refunded. Balance not charged. No-show forfeits retainer.
If you cancel, you lose the retainer and nothing more. If you do not show up, the retainer is forfeited. Message me early if you might cancel. A reschedule is free with enough notice, and that is usually the better route.
Tax and the balance
NC sales tax ~6.89%, automatic. Quote pre-tax.
The balance is due on the day of the session. The all-inclusive page shows how to read a quote.

Frequently asked questions
Can I reschedule my photo session?
Yes, once at no charge if you give two days of notice. If you need another, message me and I tell you the terms in writing. More notice gives us more dates to choose from.
What happens if it rains?
Weather reschedules are always free. If the forecast looks bad, message me and we pick a new date together. A backup date chosen at booking saves a round of messages. The price list does not set a fixed weather procedure.
Is the retainer refundable?
No. The retainer is 25 percent of the price, reserves the date and stays with the studio if you cancel. It is part of your price, not an extra charge. If your plans change, moving the date is usually the better route.
What if I need to cancel?
You lose the retainer and owe nothing more. A no-show loses the retainer too. If you might cancel, message me early, because moving the date costs nothing with enough notice.
When is the balance due?
The balance is due on the day of the session. The retainer of 25 percent has already reserved the date. NC sales tax is about 6.89 percent and is added automatically. Prices are listed before tax.
