What changes the price
Four things move a headshot price. The first is the number of looks: The Professional covers 1 to 2, and The Personal Brand covers 2 to 3 outfits or backdrops. The second is the number of retouched images, 2 or 5. The third is the place, and the fourth is how many people are in the session.
A further outfit change is $25 each. An additional location is $75. An extra edited image is $15. Rush 24-hour delivery is $100. These are the add-ons people ask about most, and all of them are on the pricing page.
How to compare quotes
Ask each photographer the same eight questions, and write the answers side by side.
- How many retouched images are included, and what does each extra one cost?
- Is a print release included, or is it an add-on?
- How long until the images arrive?
- Is travel included, and what is the fee for your office?
- Is NC sales tax in the quote or added after?
- What is the retainer, and what happens if the date changes?
- Can you see a full gallery from a real session, not only the best frames?
- Does the person who takes the photos also edit them, or is that sent out?

Travel, tax and the retainer
The first 10 miles from Apex cost nothing. The next band adds $50, the one after adds $100, and farther trips are a custom quote. Apex, Cary, Holly Springs, Morrisville and New Hill are included, and Raleigh, Fuquay-Varina, Garner and Pittsboro add $50. The quote builder shows the fee for your town as its own line. NC sales tax is added automatically, and the retainer is 25 percent of the total.
When a team beats per-person pricing
Per person is $150. A half day is $1,200. Eight people at the per-person rate cost the same as one half day, so a team larger than eight is usually cheaper on the half day. A full day at $2,200 is the cheaper choice again for a very large team. This is price math only. How many people fit in a day depends on the space and the schedule, and I confirm that with you first.
How to book
