Acting headshots in Wake County

A casting submission works best when the photo looks like you on the day you walk in. That means a natural expression, honest framing and a light edit.

Casting contacts often ask for a commercial look and a more serious look. Plan both before the session.

• Commercial. Bright, friendly and open, in a plain top in a color that suits your skin tone.
• Serious. A darker tone, a calmer expression and a little more edge.
• Wardrobe. Solid tops. Skip logos, busy patterns and anything that shines under light.
• Hair and makeup. Your everyday audition look, nothing more.

1. Prepare

   Pick two or three tops and rest the night before.

2. First look

   We start with the commercial look while you are fresh, then loosen up with a few frames between takes.

3. Second look

   You change tops and we shoot the serious look, with a neutral, steady expression.

4. Gallery

   Your gallery comes two days later, ready to send to casting.

• Heavy retouching. A casting contact should recognize you at the door.
• Props and busy backgrounds. They pull the eye away from your face.
• Over-posing. A relaxed, direct look shows more range than a fixed pose.
• An old photo. Update it when your look changes.
